ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 A Jones High School student was arrested on Thursday and now faces a variety of charges, including aggravated stalking and child porn possession, according to the Orlando Police Department.<\/p>\n
An arrest affidavit shows that the student \u2014 identified as Richie Obtenir, 18 \u2014 was booked on Thursday morning, though the offense date is listed as Aug. 21.<\/p>\n

School officials said the incident happened off campus.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, court records show that Obtenir is facing the following charges:<\/p>\n
Transmission of child sexual abuse material by electronic device or equipment<\/p>\n
Knowing possession or control of child sexual abuse material<\/p>\n
Promoting sexual performance by a child<\/p>\n
Aggravated stalking of a minor under 16 years of age<\/p>\n
Digital voyeurism\/digital voyeurism dissemination<\/p>\n
Sexual cyberharassment<\/p>\n
Educational institutions or school boards; penalty for disruption<\/p>\n
FIRST APPEARANCE<\/p>\n
During Obtenir\u2019s first appearance on Friday afternoon, the prosecutor alleged that \u201cimages and videos were disseminated to other students at the school.\u201d <\/p>\n
The judge set Obtenir\u2019s bond at $36,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m gonna order you have no contact with any victim or witness in this case, that you not access the internet or social media while this matter\u2019s pending \u2014 no weapons, no firearms,\u201d the judge said.<\/p>\n
DISTRICT STATEMENT<\/p>\n
While few details about the case have been provided at this time, News 6 reached out to the school district for more information.<\/p>\n
In response, a representative for the district provided the following statement:<\/p>\n
\u201cParents at Jones High School were notified yesterday that the Orlando Police Department arrested a student for a warrant on charges related to a situation that occurred outside of school. <\/p>\n
This is the subject of a law enforcement investigation; the student will not return to the campus while this case is ongoing.”<\/p>\n
