JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Riverside Memorial Cemetery is a place marked by reverence \u2014 every headstone representing a service member who made the ultimate sacrifice.<\/p>\n
For nearly six decades, the Tyner family carried a question no family should have to live with: Where was their son and brother, Army veteran Robert Tyner?<\/p>\n
U.S. Army Pfc. Robert Tyner was just 20 years old when the Army helicopter carrying him crashed in Vietnam in February 1968.<\/p>\n
His younger sister, Rebecca Tyner-Phillips, remembers him as a kindhearted young man who never met a stranger.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was just the most wonderful sweetheart you\u2019d ever want to meet,\u201d Tyner-Phillips said. \u201cNever met a stranger, would give a stranger the shirt off of his back.\u201d<\/p>\n
For 58 years, the family waited for answers.<\/p>\n
Those answers finally came when remains recovered from the crash site decades later were identified as Tyner\u2019s.<\/p>\n
