A woman in Florida took police on a wild chase that began at President Donald Trump’s<\/a> sprawling Mar-a-Lago estate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to a probable cause affidavit viewed by Globe, Alexa Rae Scharf was arrested on Tuesday, August 25, and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and resisting an officer without violence. The incident began at Mar-a-Lago when Scharf, 29, was accused of driving her gray Hyundai to an area restricted by the Secret Service.<\/p>\n

The president was not at Mar-a-Lago at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n

Agent McGear observed her pull up between security tents, get out of her vehicle and start using a nearby hose. When asked who she was, McGear said Scharf told him she was “here for the car wash.” When he tried to take a photo of her license plate, she got back in her car and almost hit him as she fled the area.<\/p>\n

The affidavit says Agent McGear canvassed the area and found the gray Hyundai at a nearby gated property. The gate was down, and there appeared to be damage to the entrance. The car was idling a little further up the driveway and McGear observed Scharf wandering nearby. She’d gotten back in the car by the time local law enforcement got on the scene and ordered her to turn off the vehicle and get out. She allegedly refused to comply and almost hit two more officers as she fled that area in her car as well. The officers reportedly had to jump out of the way of the vehicle to avoid being hit.<\/p>\n

The affidavit says she managed to drive between two patrol vehicles and led officers on a chase that lasted several blocks before pulling into another driveway. She continued to refuse commands from law enforcement until they had to deploy stop sticks and pry the door open.<\/p>\n

Sadly, once they had Scharf in custody, the situation was not over. CBS12<\/a> reports that her pit bull, which had been in the car the whole time, emerged and began attacking police, biting one officer. In response, one officer shot the dog twice, resulting in its death.<\/p>\n

Scharf is being held on a total of $16,000 bond. The outlet reports that she appeared in court on Thursday, August 27, where a judge agreed to send her for psychiatric evaluation and stabilization before trial.<\/p>\n
