Universal Orlando Resort has announced that a brand-new Stranger Things attraction experience has arrived at Universal Studios Florida. But there is a catch to this awesome news.

Let’s get into it.

‘Stranger Things’ Arrives to Universal Studios Florida During Halloween Horror Nights 35

Universal Orlando’s new Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins lagoon show is now part of Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Studios Florida, giving guests six chances each event night to revisit Hawkins from the Central Park viewing area. Performances are scheduled for 9 p.m., 9:45 p.m., 10:30 p.m., 11:15 p.m., midnight, and 12:45 a.m.

The addition matters beyond another show on the HHN schedule. Stranger Things is pulling double duty in 2026, with Return to Hawkins joining a Stranger Things 5 haunted house during a separately ticketed event whose multi-night pass prices increased this year. Universal has not announced a new price increase tied to the lagoon show, but the expanding lineup gives guests more to weigh when deciding how much access they need.

Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins Adds Six Nightly Shows

Universal describes Return to Hawkins as an all-new nighttime lagoon show honoring the legacy of Stranger Things. The production uses towering water screens, lighting effects, immersive audio, and music associated with the Netflix series to revisit memorable scenes across all five seasons. Universal’s official HHN 35 overview

Universal’s Discover Universal guide says the show is framed as a special WSQK broadcast. The company’s August 28 opening announcement identifies it as one of HHN 35’s two live shows, alongside Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir. For guests trying to build an HHN itinerary, the six-show schedule creates flexibility. A 9 p.m. performance can fit into an earlier-night plan, while the midnight and 12:45 a.m. performances give guests another opportunity after prioritizing haunted houses and scare zones.

Stranger Things Has Become a Bigger Part of HHN 35

Return to Hawkins is not the only Stranger Things experience at Universal Studios Florida this fall. Universal also built a Stranger Things 5 haunted house around the Netflix series’ fifth and final season, sending guests back into Hawkins for a confrontation with Vecna and creatures from the Upside Down. Inside the Magic previously covered the full HHN 35 roster, including the Stranger Things house and lagoon production, while another report detailed how the new Stranger Things announcement expanded the event’s entertainment lineup.

Universal’s official HHN page confirms that Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed event at Universal Studios Florida, running on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026. The event features 10 haunted houses in addition to scare zones, live entertainment, food, merchandise, and select attractions.

More Entertainment Comes as HHN Access Gets More Expensive

The timing is important for guests watching the cost of Halloween Horror Nights. Inside the Magic reported in July that all four 2026 multi-night pass tiers increased compared with their 2025 prices. Rush of Fear rose from $199.99 to $229.99, while the Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass increased from $419.99 to $449.99, with the two middle tiers also moving higher.

Universal has also changed how repeat visitors can buy expedited access. The company discontinued Frequent Fear products bundled with Express, a change Inside the Magic covered before the multi-night passes went on sale.

Those developments do not mean Return to Hawkins caused higher prices, nor has Universal announced an impending ticket increase because of Stranger Things. The more defensible takeaway is that HHN 35 is offering a broader slate while guests face higher multi-night admission costs and changed Express options. The new lagoon show becomes part of the value calculation rather than evidence of another unannounced hike.

Guests Now Have More Reasons to Plan the Night Carefully

Halloween Horror Nights has always required some triage, and 2026 gives guests another fixed-time experience to work around. Universal’s lineup includes 10 haunted houses, multiple scare zones, Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir, Return to Hawkins, themed food and beverage offerings, and other event entertainment.

Planning can begin before the nighttime event officially opens for eligible guests. Inside the Magic reported that Universal expanded Stay & Scream access for HHN 35, with select houses available before the event’s general 6:30 p.m. start. That early access could be particularly useful for anyone who wants to clear several houses before taking a Central Park viewing spot for the 9 p.m. lagoon show.

Universal is also selling Premium Scream Night, an exclusive HHN product held on August 27 and October 19 with shorter wait times and select all-you-care-to-enjoy food. Universal’s official HHN 35 guide That premium offering sits alongside regular single-night admission and multi-night passes, reinforcing how many access choices now surround the event.

What Return to Hawkins Means for the Rest of the Season

For Stranger Things fans, the clearest consequence is simple: seeing everything tied to Hawkins now requires more time than just walking through one haunted house. The lagoon show offers a separate retrospective built around the larger series, while the haunted house focuses on Stranger Things 5.

The six nightly performances should make that combination easier to manage, especially for guests willing to save the lagoon for later in the evening. But schedules remain subject to operational changes, so guests should check Universal’s official information and the Universal Orlando app on the date of their visit.

What has not been announced is equally important. Universal has not said that Return to Hawkins will become a permanent Universal Studios Florida offering, continue beyond Halloween Horror Nights 35, or trigger another ticket-price increase. For now, it is an HHN 35-exclusive addition, giving the event another major Stranger Things draw as Universal asks guests to choose among a growing range of admission and premium-access options.
