ENGLEWOOD \u2014 Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man who is a designated sex offender on several charges after seeing him driving a motorcycle with a minor who had no helmet, reports show.<\/p>\n
Sean Cody Sickler, 40, of 8273 Herbison Road, North Port, failed to comply with sex offender registration laws, court records show.<\/p>\n
CCSO Cpl. Andrew Schulte saw Sickler driving a Kawasaki motorcycle on Placida Road on Friday, reports show. There was a \u201cyoung juvenile\u201d on the back who was not wearing a helmet, he reported.<\/p>\n
Schulte reported that he knew Sickler did not have a valid motorcycle endorsement, reports show.<\/p>\n
He pulled over Sickler at Maryland Avenue and 10th Street in Grove City, reports show.<\/p>\n
Schulte found Sickler was stopped Aug. 8 driving a BMW. He did not report the vehicles to the Sarasota County Sheriff\u2019s Office, \u201cas required by his sexual offender status,\u201d the deputy reported.<\/p>\n
Schulte also learned Sickler had been staying at a home on the 3200 bloc of Cindy Lane in Englewood, which he also didn\u2019t report to law enforcement, the report shows.<\/p>\n
Sickler was arrested and charged with three counts of failure to comply with registration laws, driving a motorcycle with no license, and failure to register a vehicle. He was also issued a citation for riding with a child who had no helmet.<\/p>\n
Sickler was booked into the Charlotte County Jail. He was released on bond Saturday.
