This week, Katy released her highly anticipated song \u201cbandaids,\u201d<\/a> marking her first new single since the release of her 2024 album 143.\"Katy Katy Perry \/ London Alley & The Lucky Bastards \/ Via youtu.be<\/a>While Katy hasn\u2019t explicitly clarified who the emotional song is about, \u201cbandaids\u201d details her attempts at making a relationship work, but ultimately to no avail. \u201cHand to God, I promised, I tried \/ There’s no stone left unturned,\u201d she sings<\/a>. \u201cIt’s not what you did, it’s what you didn’t \/ You were there, but you weren\u2019t.\u201d\"Lyrics\u201cGot so used to you letting me down \/ No use tryna send flowers now \/ Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t \/ Band-Aids over a broken heart,\u201d she says.\"Katy<\/p>\n

In the catchy chorus, Katy sings, \u201cTried all the medications \/ Lowered my expectations \/ Made every justification \/ Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow \/ Band-Aids over a broken heart.\u201d\"SongKaty goes on to say, \u201cOn the bright side, we had good times \/ N\u0435ver faked our pictures \/ W\u0435 were perfect ’til we weren’t \/ Now we’ve got too many splinters.\u201d Interestingly, her and Orlando\u2019s breakup came as a shock to the public given their affectionate appearances just months ahead of the news breaking.\"Katy<\/p>\n

In the next chorus, Katy continues to hint that the breakdown of the relationship was partly due to a lack of effort on her partner\u2019s end. \u201cIt’s not that complicated \/ To ask me how my day is \/ I\u2019m flatlining trying to save this,\u201d she says.\"Song<\/p>\n

In this particular part, Katy is notably stuck on a train track. After looking at the daisy, however, she finds the strength to free herself and manages to escape moments before a train hits her.<\/p>\n

The video features several Final Destination references, including a clear nod at the iconic log scene, which fans have speculated is representative of the hardships Katy has experienced. \u201cLove the way she keeps going even when the world tries to pull her down,\u201d one person said<\/a> in the comments for the video on YouTube, while another person wrote<\/a>, \u201cdamn i didn\u2019t expect katy to be so open and honest about her last relationship.. that\u2019s beautiful.\u201d\"Katy Katy Perry \/ London Alley & The Lucky Bastards \/ Via youtube.com<\/a><\/p>\n
