Alligator on Central Florida highway causes chain-reaction crash

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said Taylor was set to be sworn in as a civilian corrections assistant with the department on Monday.

The sheriff’s office said she was the daughter of a deputy there.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash occurred just before midnight when a 58-year-old man from Canada struck an alligator while driving south on I-95 in Titusville.

Troopers said Taylor, who was driving behind the man, swerved, lost control, overturned and was ejected from her truck.

They said Taylor was not wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers also said a third driver ran over Taylor and did not stop.

Authorities are still searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact FHP at *347 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.

Florida officials identify woman killed after alligator on I-95 triggers chain-reaction crash BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Florida authorities…

[11
103596,7863,155140,315,155146,155139,155147,155142,155141,55904,11853,155143,6425,28,155149,618,36813,5154,155148,5085,12189,673,217,155145,660,139,141,140,9036,4187,155144,155150,15447,8774,53172
post-387413","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-orlando","tag-58-year-old-man","tag-alligator","tag-alligator-crash","tag-brevard-county","tag-canada-driver","tag-cassi-taylor","tag-central-florida-highway","tag-chain-reaction-crash","tag-civilian-corrections-assistant","tag-crimeline","tag-department","tag-deputy-daughter","tag-ejected","tag-florida","tag-florida-authority","tag-florida-highway-patrol","tag-florida-woman","tag-hit-and-run","tag-hit-and-run-chain-reaction-crash","tag-i-95","tag-indian-river-county","tag-indian-river-county-sheriff","tag-monday","tag-no-seatbelt","tag-office","tag-orlando","tag-orlando-headlines","tag-orlando-news","tag-palm-bay","tag-sheriffs-office","tag-swerved","tag-third-driver","tag-titusville","tag-trooper","tag-truck-crash
["GET
