He said he was joking.(MDCR)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">An American Airlines gate agent at Miami International Airport was asking Yoel Guevara-Crespo, 33, \u201cstandard security questions\u201d as he was about to board a flight to Cuba, according to a Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office arrest report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">When the gate agent asked Guevara-Crespo if he had lithium batteries or incendiary devices in his bag, he said, \u201cNo, but I have a bomb,\u201d authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2026\/09\/01\/man-flying-to-cuba-tells-aa-gate-agent-at-mia-no-lithium-batteries-but-i-have-a-bomb-cops-say\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=snd&amp;utm_content=wplg10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2026\/09\/01\/man-flying-to-cuba-tells-aa-gate-agent-at-mia-no-lithium-batteries-but-i-have-a-bomb-cops-say\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=snd&amp;utm_content=wplg10\">WPLG<\/a> reported that the gate agent told Guevara-Crespo that he could not get on the flight and that she would be contacting her supervisor.
