{"id":388375,"date":"2026-09-02T15:44:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T15:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/388375\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T15:44:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T15:44:15","slug":"teen-accused-of-stabbing-2-classmates-at-miami-northwestern-senior-high-in-court-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/388375\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen accused of stabbing 2 classmates at Miami Northwestern Senior High in court \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teen accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/2-teens-hospitalized-after-stabbing-in-miami-fire-rescue-says\/3852874\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/2-teens-hospitalized-after-stabbing-in-miami-fire-rescue-says\/3852874\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">stabbing two classmates at Miami Northwestern Senior High School<\/a> appeared in court Tuesday as the injured students continued to recover.<\/p>\n<p>According to Miami Fire Rescue, crews responded at around 12:30 p.m. Monday to the area near the school after receiving reports of an altercation.<\/p>\n<p>An 18-year-old was found with a stab wound while a 15-year-old suffered a laceration to his hand.<\/p>\n<p>Both were hospitalized in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Cellphone video shows two people appearing to team up as they attack a student in a hallway before that student appears to go after them.<\/p>\n<p>The video doesn&#8217;t make it clear who the suspects and the victims are in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>One student said the stabbing was in self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy friend, they jumped him and when they jumped him, he stabbed them back in self defense,&#8221; the student said.<\/p>\n<p>A 15-year-old was arrested in the incident and appeared before a judge on Tuesday, where he was ordered to stay under house arrest with an ankle monitor.<\/p>\n<p>After the hearing, the teen&#8217;s father spoke.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They spent a few days mistreating and threatening my son and this is the outcome,&#8221; the father said in Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>The teen is due back in court in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is aware of an incident involving students at one of our high schools.
