A Broward County Public Schools assistant principal was arrested Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, in Weston, jail records show.<\/p>\n

A Broward County Public Schools assistant principal was arrested Sunday in Weston in connection with an off-campus domestic violence incident.<\/p>\n

Marc Horowitz, 53, is charged with robbery by sudden snatching and domestic violence battery, records show. He was being held with bond to be set at the Broward Main Jail.<\/p>\n

Horowitz, who is an assistant principal at Orange Brook Elementary School in Hollywood, has been \u201creassigned from the school following an off-campus incident, pending further Human Resources review and action, which may include termination,\u201d BCPS spokesperson John J. Sullivan told the Miami Herald.<\/p>\n

Horowitz\u2019s arrest stemmed from a disturbance call, said Gerdy St. Louis, a spokesperson with the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office. Deputies went to a location near the 16000 block of Southwest Fifth Way in Weston shortly after midnight on Friday.<\/p>\n

He is accused of physically assaulting an adult and snatching a cellphone, St. Louis said. Authorities didn\u2019t identify the victim.<\/p>\n

\u201cBroward County Public Schools holds its school leaders to the highest standards of professional conduct and takes matters that may fall short of those standards seriously,\u201d Sullivan said in a statement.<\/p>\n
