<\/a>CAPE CORAL, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\nA car crashed into a vacant building on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral, leaving behind significant damage to a former Pizza Hut. <\/p>\n
Neighbors in the area said the building has been vacant for the last few years. <\/p>\n
Ron Pentiuk, a Cape Coral resident, shared his reaction to the crash. <\/p>\n
“Unbelievable that went right through there,” Pentiuk said. <\/p>\n
Video footage of the incident taken Wednesday morning shows a Volkswagen Buggy lodged inside the building. The Pizza Hut has been closed since 2020, and neighbors like Pentiuk are trying to understand how the car ended up on the side of the structure. <\/p>\n
“I looked for skid marks and stuff, and I didn’t see any. They must have lost control somehow,” Pentiuk said. <\/p>\n
The crash occurred on Del Prado Boulevard just before Coronado Parkway. Efforts to reach the Cape Coral Police Department for updates on the driver\u2019s condition or whether others were involved have not yet been successful.<\/p>\n
