ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Central Florida will start Friday on a dry note, but showers and thunderstorms will build through the afternoon and early evening as the sea breeze develops.<\/p>\n

Some locations could see repeated rounds of heavy rain, which may lead to minor flooding, especially in areas that receive multiple downpours. <\/p>\n

The strongest storms could produce gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph along with frequent lightning.<\/p>\n

Morning Forecast: Friday, September 4, 2026 (WFTV)<\/p>\n

Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s Friday. <\/p>\n

Despite the heat, heat indices are expected to remain below Heat Advisory levels, though readings will still reach the triple digits in spots.<\/p>\n

The hot and humid weather won\u2019t be limited to Friday. <\/p>\n

Central Florida is expected to remain hot and muggy throughout the entire long holiday weekend, with daily rain and storm chances continuing.<\/p>\n

Residents and visitors should be prepared for storms during the afternoon and early evening, particularly if outdoor plans are on the schedule. <\/p>\n

Frequent lightning and sudden downpours could make conditions hazardous at times.<\/p>\n
