DANIA BEACH, Fla. \u2014 If you\u2019ve ever watched a game show from your couch and thought you could do better than the contestants, a new South Florida attraction is giving you the chance to prove it.<\/p>\n
Great Big Game Show has arrived at Dania Pointe, transforming everyday visitors into game show contestants through a series of challenges testing knowledge, strategy, speed and luck.<\/p>\n
The experience accommodates groups of two to 14 contestants, who are divided into red and blue teams and compete to rack up points throughout multiple rounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think everyone\u2019s always wanted to be a contestant on a game show, and now is your chance,\u201d general manager Justin Hambey said. \u201cThere\u2019s music, you have a live host, so you really feel immersed in that experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Local 10\u2019s Alexis Frazier brought along several members of the Local 10 team to put the experience to the test.<\/p>\n
And once the teams were divided, coworkers quickly became competitors.<\/p>\n
From trivia to building challenges<\/p>\n
The competition kicked off with \u201cBuild It Up,\u201d which gave contestants 60 seconds to construct the tallest tower they could.<\/p>\n
Communication under pressure proved to be just as important as building skills.<\/p>\n
From there, contestants faced questions ranging from a first-grade to fifth-grade level.<\/p>\n
The challenges continued to change throughout the experience. Some tested knowledge, while others required strategy, speed or a little bit of luck.<\/p>\n
Another game, \u201cMajor Miners,\u201d featured a format similar to a survey-style game show, with teams trying to guess answers on a board and earn points.<\/p>\n
The Local 10 teams eventually found themselves tied, setting up a final spin to determine the winner.<\/p>\n
One unfortunate spin landed on \u201cLose It All,\u201d bringing the competition to a dramatic end \u2014 complete with screams and confetti for the winning team.<\/p>\n
Escape rooms add another challenge<\/p>\n
The game show isn\u2019t the only attraction available.<\/p>\n
Visitors can also take on The Escape Game, a 60-minute escape room experience where teams work together to solve puzzles and clues before time runs out.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou work together with your team to solve clues and puzzles and find a way out within one hour,\u201d Hambey said.<\/p>\n
Among the adventures is \u201cThe Heist,\u201d where participants attempt to recover a stolen painting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Depths\u201d takes players into an abandoned underwater laboratory, while \u201cRuins: Forbidden Treasure\u201d sends teams on an adventure through the jungle.<\/p>\n
Local 10\u2019s teams tried another escape experience that even included a snowy surprise \u2014 but we\u2019re not giving away the clues.<\/p>\n
