OPA-LOCKA, Fla. \u2014 An arrest has been made after an armed robbery at a Family Dollar in Opa-locka prompted a multi-agency search Friday, police confirmed. <\/p>\n

Opa-locka police said officers responded to the store, located at 14400 Northwest 27th Ave., after the robbery was reported. <\/p>\n

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they saw the suspect fleeing the area on foot. <\/p>\n

They said officers established a perimeter and called for additional law enforcement resources. <\/p>\n

Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 10:30 a.m. as officers gathered next to a police car in the area. <\/p>\n

Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office K-9 and aviation units, along with officers from the Miami Gardens Police Department and Miami-Dade Schools Police Department, joined the search, according to investigators. <\/p>\n

The suspect was eventually located and taken into custody without further incident, police said.<\/p>\n

They said there is no ongoing threat to the community related to the armed robbery.<\/p>\n

Police said the investigation remains active. They did not immediately release additional details about the suspect or what, if anything, was taken from the store.<\/p>\n
