{"id":391071,"date":"2026-09-05T04:50:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T04:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/391071\/"},"modified":"2026-09-05T04:50:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T04:50:15","slug":"homicide-investigation-draws-police-bci-to-miami-township-apartments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/391071\/","title":{"rendered":"Homicide investigation draws police &#038; BCI to Miami Township apartments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKEF) &#8212; The Miami Township Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Friday, September 4. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Miami Township Communications Manager, police responded to 7300 Cold Water Court in the Mad River Apartments Complex around 8:05 a.m. <\/p>\n<p>Officers were dispatched to the location for a welfare check after the victim\u2019s co-worker discovered an open door while checking on the victim who did not report for work.<\/p>\n<p>Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Upon further investigation, police determined that the woman\u2019s vehicle was missing. Investigators believe the suspect in this case was involved in a carjacking attempt in Moraine, and the theft and crash of a Dayton Police Department cruiser.<\/p>\n<p>The Miami Township Police Department, along with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is currently investigating.
