YouTuber and influencer Jack Doherty, 22, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale on Friday and charged with domestic battery following a reported physical dispute with a woman inside a home, according to police and Broward County Jail records.<\/p>\n
Fort Lauderdale police said officers responded at about 11:56 a.m. to the 1400 block of Southwest Fifth Court after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. Officers identified Doherty as being involved in the incident, police said.<\/p>\n
According to the report cited by NBC 6 South Florida, Doherty and a female victim became involved in a physical altercation. The woman was not injured, and Doherty was taken to the Broward County Jail. The available report does not establish the circumstances that led to the confrontation or provide an account from the alleged victim.<\/p>\n
A charge is an allegation, and Doherty is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
The arrest adds to a series of incidents involving the social-media personality in South Florida. Doherty was arrested in Miami Beach in November 2025 after police said he refused repeated orders to leave a roadway while recording content. Officers reported finding what they believed to be cannabis cigarettes and part of a pill during a search.<\/p>\n
Doherty, who has nearly 15 million subscribers, has also drawn attention for livestreaming stunts and controversial videos. In October 2024, he crashed a McLaren during a livestream after appearing to look at his phone while driving in rainy conditions, according to NBC 6.<\/p>\n

Doherty\u2019s case comes against a much broader backdrop of intimate-partner violence in the United States.<\/p>\n
The latest CDC National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, covering 2023-2024, estimates that 6.7 million women and 2.8 million men experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner during the previous 12 months. Over a lifetime, the figures rise to about 43.5 million women and 20.7 million men.<\/p>\n
Physical violence alone was reported by 22.5% of women and 13.7% of men over their lifetimes. The CDC estimates that about 1.85 million women and 930,000 men experienced physical violence by an intimate partner during the 12 months preceding the survey.<\/p>\n
The figures include a wide range of conduct, from slapping, pushing and shoving to severe violence involving choking, beating, weapons or other serious physical attacks.<\/p>\n
The CDC cautions that the survey likely underestimates the true scale of intimate-partner violence because some victims may be unwilling or unable to disclose what happened. The agency also warns that the redesigned 2023-2024 survey should not be directly compared with earlier NISVS estimates because of methodological changes.<\/p>\n
Separate federal crime<\/a> data<\/a> provide a broader picture of violence. The Bureau of Justice Statistics reported 23.3 violent victimizations per 1,000 people age 12 and older in 2024, a rate statistically similar to 2023. The National Crime<\/a> Victimization Survey includes crimes that are reported to police as well as those that are not, making it different from police-recorded crime<\/a> statistics.<\/p>\n For Doherty, the immediate issue is now a criminal case in Broward County.
