MARGATE, Fla. \u2014 Friends and family are rallying around a father mourning the loss of his wife and 2-year-old daughter after they were struck and killed by lightning.<\/p>\n
Kameron Glasgow is dealing with what he calls an unimaginable loss.<\/p>\n
Last month, Glasgow\u2019s family was heading to his aunt\u2019s home for dinner on Northwest 1st Street in Margate when lightning struck his wife, 31-year-old Kenya Glasgow, and their 2-year-old daughter, Kennedi.<\/p>\n
They both died at separate hospitals.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m still trying to wrap my mind around it,\u201d Glasgow said. \u201cIt\u2019s one in a million.\u201d<\/p>\n
Glasgow and Kenya were high school sweethearts. He said she was his rock and inspiration.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy wife\u2019s biggest thing all her life since I\u2019ve been in her life is feel your feelings and press on because you have to get those emotions out to recenter yourself,\u201d he said. \u201cSo I got my emotions out and I\u2019m recentered now. I\u2019m good for right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Friends and family gathered Friday night at a Fort Lauderdale funeral home for a public visitation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just a testament to how my wife is,\u201d Glasgow said. \u201cEverybody\u2019s saying how we were as a unit, just a good couple, a good family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Glasgow said he wants people to remember Kenya as someone who was always full of life and willing to help others.<\/p>\n
\u201cI pray for everyone to remember her as the life of the party, the one that always wants to help, and never wanted anything in return,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kenya and Kennedi leave behind Kennsli, Kennedi\u2019s twin.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve already started working on letting her know, hey mommy and sissy, they\u2019re in heaven, so she can point up to heaven and say hi to them,\u201d Glasgow said.<\/p>\n
As he begins to process the loss, Glasgow has a message for others.<\/p>\n
\u201cBe careful, if it\u2019s out there, just get inside pretty much,\u201d he said. \u201cBut also don\u2019t let this situation deter you from how you normally live your life. Be safer, but don\u2019t walk around in fear. That\u2019s not okay. Remain you.\u201d<\/p>\n
The celebration of life is set for Saturday at noon.<\/p>\n
