ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Central Florida will see another round of afternoon storms Sunday as heat and humidity build across the region.<\/p>\n
Temperatures will climb back into the 90s, with highs expected to rise above 90 degrees across much of Central Florida. <\/p>\n
With high humidity in place, the heat index could reach the triple digits in some areas before storms develop during the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and continue into the evening.<\/p>\n
A few storms could become strong, with the main threats including heavy rainfall, wind gusts up to 40 mph, and frequent lightning.<\/p>\n
Some locations could pick up 2 to 3 inches of rain by the end of the weekend, particularly where multiple rounds of storms move over the same area.<\/p>\n
The wet pattern isn\u2019t going away anytime soon. <\/p>\n
Rain chances are expected to continue each day through at least the middle of the upcoming week, keeping the potential for additional heavy downpours in the forecast.<\/p>\n
With frequent afternoon storms expected, remember to seek shelter indoors when thunder is heard and never drive through a flooded roadway.<\/p>\n
