PALM CITY — The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast has slowly begun placing the rescued border collies into their new homes and is pleased to share photos from one of the first successful adoptions.

To respect the privacy of the adopters during these important first few weeks of transition, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast will not be identifying or releasing any information about the adopters pictured in the attached photos at this time.

The shelter is allowing each border collie time to settle into his or her new home and ensuring that the placement is successful before facilitating any media follow-up. After several weeks, once the shelter has confirmed that the adoption is going well, adopter information may be shared with interested reporters with the adopter’s approval.

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is taking this adoption process very seriously to ensure the well-being, safety and happiness of each border collie. Shelter staff will remain in regular contact with adopters, conduct follow-ups and provide continued support throughout the transition.

As part of that commitment, ongoing training classes will also be available to these adopters for any border collie needing additional training, attention or support as they adjust to their new life.

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is incredibly encouraged by these first adoptions and excited for what the future holds for each of these dogs.

The shelter would also like to remind everyone that there are many other animals still waiting for their forever homes. The shelter’s “Name Your Price” adoption special for any dog or cat over one year old remains in place until further notice.
