(WSVN) &#8211; Radio transmissions captured the moments when dozens of first responders were dispatched to the site of a <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/at-least-5-dead-5-injured-after-cargo-plane-overruns-runway-strikes-multiple-vehicles-near-mia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">deadly cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport<\/a> on Labor Day weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those firefighters could be heard describing the scene in their own words.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlane is on fire, plane is on fire, put your game faces on,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That directive was sent over Miami-Dade Fire Rescue dispatch, after an Amazon cargo plane crashed and burned at Miami International Airport, at around 2 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt struck a truck. We do have a patient on the ground, we are looking in the area for more patients,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Boeing 767 collided with several vehicles, trapping people inside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have a patient trapped. We\u2019re gonna need extrication, we\u2019re gonna need a [Technical Rescue Team] Unit, trapped under a van,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First responders worked to free people while they put out the flames.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe fire appears to be under control, almost out. We are working on replenishing our vehicles in reference to water and foam,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As firefighters contained the fire, the plane still had other issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is a pilot walking on the parking lot trying to get one of the firefighter\u2019s attention to shut the engine off,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firefighters quickly got everyone off of the plane, which began leaking fuel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAll of the souls are off the aircraft. We are going to try to treat the pilots; other than that, the scene is kind of downgrading,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Five people lost their lives, and another five were transported to the hospital, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI need rescue to come to the scene to treat and transport the pilot,\u201d said a first responder in radio transmissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firefighters said a specialized foam was used to extinguish the flames caused by the fuel leak.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
