New cellphone video captured a pilot jumping out of an Amazon cargo jet moments after it overran a runway at Miami International Airport and crashed<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Olvin Henriquez had passed by the scene with his family, including his 4-month-old daughter, and filmed the aftermath of the deadly crash.<\/p>\n

“The mere thought that, just moments earlier, my entire family could have been dragged along by the plane \u2014 as other vehicles and people unfortunately were \u2014 is terrifying,” he wrote to NBC6 and Telemundo 51.<\/p>\n

The crash sent thick black smoke billowing into the sky, and trapped the pilot and copilot in the cockpit and some occupants in cars, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said.<\/p>\n

“It was shocking to witness all of that; then, unexpectedly, we saw the pilot jump out of the cockpit door and run for his life as the plane rapidly burst into flames,” Henriquez said. “My family and I quickly turned the car around, fearing the plane might explode violently.”<\/p>\n

Five people were killed, and five people were injured, including the two pilots. They have since been released from the hospital.<\/p>\n

“It was all very quiet; despite being so close, none of us heard the plane dragging along the ground. Before we knew it, we saw that massive plane engulfed in flames and the road ahead destroyed; we were all in shock witnessing such a dramatic event,” Henriquez said.<\/p>\n
