President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s granddaughter Kai Trump<\/a> is giving a tour of her new apartment for her freshman year at the University of Miami.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m home right now in my apartment, I\u2019m making this little apartment tour,\u201d Kai, 18, said in a YouTube<\/a> video uploaded on Saturday, September 5. \u201cSo come on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kai, who is the daughter of Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr., kicked off the video in the kitchen which she referred to as her \u201cfavorite part\u201d of her home because she enjoys eating \u201ca lot.\u201d The kitchen had white counters with steel appliances. She panned the video over to the living room to show off her art, a white couch, flat screen TV and modern fireplace.<\/p>\n

\u201c[There\u2019s] my fireplace, which is, like, I think, the coolest part of this,\u201d she said of the fireplace that had LED lighting around it.<\/p>\n

Kai\u2019s apartment also has a guest bathroom and an office for the college student. In one room, she had a photo of her and her grandfather<\/a>, 80, playing golf hung up.<\/p>\n

The golfer concluded the tour by showing off her bedroom which included a personal bathroom and walk-in closet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is it, it\u2019s pretty cool. I\u2019m very, very lucky to have this obviously as a freshman \u2026 It\u2019s amazing. I love it,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s really nice coming home to no one. And after a long day on the golf course it\u2019s always nice to chill here and do nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kai\u2019s apartment tour went viral online and many social media users had opinions about her new living quarters. Several people called out the space as being too lavish for a college student.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s nice to be rich. Your kids and grandkids won\u2019t have to suffer,\u201d one user wrote while another responded, \u201cThis is actually a slap in the face for those students who are struggling to pay tuition and holding part time jobs to survive in college and end up with huge [Fannie Mae] loan. Believe me I know \ud83d\ude12\ud83d\ude12.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others came to Kai\u2019s defense explaining she probably couldn\u2019t live in a traditional dorm because of her secret service detail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNormal apartment in Miami. It\u2019s nothing crazy for the granddaughter of a president. I assume they won\u2019t let her stay in dorms because of security,\u201d one person explained while another shared, \u201cUnpopular opinion, but given who she is, she needs that apartment. Better security, private guards etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kai committed to the golf team at the University of Miami<\/a> in 2024. Before heading to college, she began her amateur golf career during the LPGA Tour in November 2025.
