Department store retailer Kohl\u2019s has sold a building in Coconut Creek, Fla., for $53.5 million, according to a property deed.<\/p>\n

Baptist Health South Florida<\/a> acquired the property at 6950 North State Road 7. The building spans 92,726 square feet and last sold in 2008 for $14.75 million, according to Broward County property records.<\/p>\n

Kohl\u2019s told Commercial Observer it will lease back the property through mid-November and then close the retail location there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe final day of operations will be Nov. 14,\u201d Kohl\u2019s said in an emailed statement. \u201cAssociates will have the opportunity to transfer to nearby Kohl’s<\/a> locations or will receive transition support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baptist Health is a nonprofit based in Coral Gables, Fla., that has been expanding north. Its hospital in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Sunrise, Fla., is set to open in 2029.<\/p>\n

Baptist Health has not responded to a request for comment or more information on plans for the 8.2-acre site.<\/p>\n
