FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 A Palm Coast man has been arrested after he broke through the wall into his neighbor\u2019s unit using a hammer and power tools, according to the Flagler County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
In a release, deputies said the incident happened early Sunday morning, when they responded to a duplex in the B-Section of Palm Coast after the victim reported the incident.<\/p>\n
At the time, the suspect \u2014 identified as Charles Bowden, 58 \u2014 allegedly made threats toward the victim while trying to break through the wall, deputies added.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen deputies arrived, the victim shared an audio recording of the incident, in which Bowden could be heard laughing, calling the victim names, and yelling threats, such as \u2018I\u2019m going to be crawling through the walls and figure out ways to make your life hell,\u2019\u201d the release reads.<\/p>\n
Investigators noted that a hole was found in the wall between the two units \u2014 roughly the size of a softball.<\/p>\n
Deputies said they tried to contact Bowden, though he refused to speak with deputies and instead threw a bag out of the upstairs window toward them.<\/p>\n
Bowden then refused to come out of the home for over an hour and a half until deputies were eventually able to call him via phone and convince him to step outside, investigators explained.<\/p>\n
Jail records show that Bowden was ultimately taken into custody, and he now faces charges of burglary with assault or battery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. He is held without bond.<\/p>\n
According to deputies, a hammer and electric string trimmer were also found in Bowden\u2019s home near the hole in the wall, both of which were covered in drywall residue.<\/p>\n
\u201cTalk about a neighbor from hell,\u201d Sheriff Rick Staly said. \u201cNobody should be made to feel threatened while in the safety of their home, and I am thankful our deputies arrived quickly and this incident didn\u2019t escalate further than a hole in the wall. Now, this guy is sitting in the Green Roof Inn, surrounded by walls he won\u2019t be able to break through.\u201d<\/p>\n
