{"id":394347,"date":"2026-09-09T02:58:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T02:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/394347\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T02:58:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T02:58:14","slug":"miami-amazon-cargo-plane-crash-kills-five","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/394347\/","title":{"rendered":"Miami Amazon cargo plane crash kills five"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Victims identified after Amazon cargo plane overshoots Miami runway by 1,300 feet and hits vehicles<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1788922694_678_author_avatar.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Danielle Scruggs\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>MIAMI \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">Five people died, and three others were hospitalized after an Amazon cargo plane overshot the runway Sunday afternoon near NW 67th Avenue at Miami International Airport. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpbf.com\/article\/florida-miami-amazon-cargo-plane-crash-kills-five\/73640621\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Witness says red light spared her in Miami as Amazon cargo plane struck vehicles and killed five<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">The NTSB confirmed that the five fatalities were individuals in vehicles hit by the plane, not passengers aboard the aircraft.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Authorities with the Miami-Dade Sheriff&#8217;s Office have identified the victims as Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Narajo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">Two pilots were treated and released, while three others remain hospitalized. One is in critical condition, and another is stable.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">Officials remain on the scene to assist with traffic control as the investigation into the incident continues.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">Chaplains are present and available to support families impacted by the tragedy.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"9\">NW 67th Avenue remains closed in some areas, and motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
