TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Heading out the door this morning, it is another mild start to the day with temperatures in the mid-70s across North Florida and South Georgia. No rain to worry about.<\/p>\n
Today\u2019s weather will be driven by the Atlantic sea breeze. East winds will bring the sea breeze from east to west through the afternoon and early evening hours. Shower coverage will be limited primarily to the eastern Big Bend and South Georgia. <\/p>\n
Most of the day will be quiet with partly to mostly sunny skies and HOT with temperatures once again climbing into the low to mid-90s. <\/p>\n
Winds shift tomorrow which will keep the morning hours mild again in the 70s. The south wind will also increase the coverage and timing of the showers and storms. Scattered showers and storms late morning and into the afternoon on Thursday. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.<\/p>\n
Winds stay out of the south, which will keep rain chances high through the weekend. Not looking like any washout\u2019s and plenty of time to get outside and enjoy the weather. Hot and humid in the 90s through the weekend. <\/p>\n
Beach and boating<\/p>\n
Wednesday: Easterly winds are leading to a high rip current risk along the Franklin County coast this afternoon. Waves 2 to 3 feet and a moderate chop on the protected waters and bays. <\/p>\n
Thursday: South winds around 5 knots. Waves 1 foot or less. A light chop on the protected waters and bays. A small chance for showers and storms, mainly in the morning.<\/p>\n
Friday: South winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves 1 foot or less. A light chop on the protected waters and bays. Showers and storms likely, especially in the morning. <\/p>\n
Tropical Update<\/p>\n
There is no chance of development expected in the next 7 days in the Atlantic or Gulf. This is looking like a historic start to the Atlantic season. <\/p>\n
There has not been a hurricane so far this year. The latest first hurricane in history was September 11. This has happened twice in the satellite era. Recorded data going back to 1851, the latest hurricane was October 8 in 1905. There were two seasons where there were NO hurricanes in 1907 and 1914 according to HURDAT reanalysis<\/a>. <\/p>\n Late September, there is a small chance that conditions become slightly more favorable for some tropical development in the Gulf or western Atlantic. No threats.
