(WSVN) &#8211; Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies have released new video showing the moments, they said, a man was <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/broward\/1-found-dead-near-bicycle-in-pompano-beach-neighborhood-cause-unknown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">hit by a car<\/a> in Deefield Beach and left to die.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators said the driver of the dark-colored vehicle got out of the car after the Aug. 23 collision, looked at the victim, then got back in the car and drove away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said they <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/broward\/deputies-search-for-driver-behind-fatal-hit-and-run-crash-in-pompano-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">found a body<\/a> at Fairview Park in Pompano\u00a0Beach, later identified as 44-year-old Lacurtis Knight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives initially believed that the body, which had signs of trauma, was potentially initially connected to a vehicle accident, until they found the surveillance video.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BSO spokesperson\u00a0Miranda Grossman described the moment Knight was hit by the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is still a mystery right now. It\u2019s quite blurry, but you can tell that someone in a dark-colored car hits Knight, runs him over, and he stops the vehicle, gets out of the car, looks at Knight, looks at the front of his car and then drives away,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities believe that Knight was riding his bike along the 400 block of Northeast 44th Street when he was struck by the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPossibly Knight had already fallen off the bike, and then was also hit by this car after,\u201d said Grossman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it\u2019s unclear how Knight\u2019s body reappeared nearly five miles south at the park in Pompano Beach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators remain on the lookout for the driver of the vehicle in the surveillance video, even <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/broward\/bso-detectives-release-flyer-amid-search-for-driver-in-deadly-hit-and-run-in-pompano-beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">releasing a flyer<\/a> late last month that provided more information about that crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grossman said the vehicle was dark blue or black, possibly a 2012-2022 Toyota Corolla, with a missing passenger side rear hubcap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAny little piece of information could help solve this mystery,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have any information on this hit-and-run or the driver\u2019s whereabouts, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
