{"id":395141,"date":"2026-09-09T21:02:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T21:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/395141\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T21:02:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T21:02:22","slug":"man-shoots-aggressive-dog-in-fort-pierce-sheriffs-office-confirms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/395141\/","title":{"rendered":"Man shoots &#8216;aggressive&#8217; dog in Fort Pierce, sheriff&#8217;s office confirms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The St. Lucie County Sheriff\u2019s Office on Monday confirmed a man shot one of two dogs acting aggressively and attacking family members in the Indian River Estates subdivision.<\/p>\n<p>After the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpbf.com\/article\/florida-dog-shot-allegedly-charging-at-fort-pierce-couple-outside-home-in-st-lucie-county\/73626712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">incident Sunday<\/a> in the 5900 block of Palm Drive, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division reviewed available surveillance footage and conducted interviews.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1788987742_315_61657bda-12b3-4d10-93ff-a5d48421fb47.png\" alt=\"Image no longer available\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" draggable=\"true\" class=\"css-fphibt\"\/><\/p>\n<p>google map<\/p>\n<p>Dog shot in Fort Pierce.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1788987742_315_61657bda-12b3-4d10-93ff-a5d48421fb47.png\" alt=\"Image no longer available\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"css-hr9vxw\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Investigators confirmed that two dogs were behaving aggressively and attempting to attack family members,&#8221; the agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stluciesheriff\/posts\/pfbid025fueE1vu15RiyFd95js5w7k994zLTaJHUP5NGm9aaBiiTm9Sook6yrp7Yeoym5uRl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">posted on Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The man&#8217;s wife pulled into her driveway, and two dogs approached her vehicle and prevented her from safely getting out of her vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>She contacted her husband for assistance.<\/p>\n<p>He said he came outside and observed the dogs before returning inside the residence to retrieve a handgun.
