A terrorist attack on New York City\u2019s World Trade Center leveled the Twin Towers and took the lives of nearly 3,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-five years later, South Florida will honor the lives lost and sacrifices made by first responders and other public servants on 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p>All events listed below are on Friday, Sept. 11.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at some of the events:<\/p>\n<p>Coconut Grove<\/p>\n<p>The city of Miami will host a 9\/11 remembrance ceremony at Miami City Hall. A graduation ceremony for 44 new firefighters will immediately follow the remembrance ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 3500 Pan American Dr., Miami<\/p>\n<p>Tropical Park<\/p>\n<p>The Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office will hold a 9\/11 memorial ceremony at Tropical Park. This annual event is open to the public. U.S. Southern Command, the Police Officer Assistant Trust and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue will also support the event.<\/p>\n<p>When: 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 7900 SW 40th St.<\/p>\n<p>Miami Dade College &#8211; Kendall<\/p>\n<p>The 9\/11 commemoration at Miami Dade College\u2019s Kendall Campus will at the Fred Shaw Plaza. Students, faculty, staff and the public are welcome to pay their respects.<\/p>\n<p>When: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 11011 SW 104th St., Miami<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.mdc.edu\/event\/911-remembrance-ceremony\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.calendar.mdc.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>North Miami<\/p>\n<p>The North Miami Police Department will honor the people who died on 9\/11 with an event at its headquarters. Everyone is invited to observe a 9:11 a.m. 21-gun salute and a moment of silence.<\/p>\n<p>When: 9:11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 700 NE 124th St., North Miami<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.coconutgrove.com\/calendars\/all-events\/4825349\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.instagram.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Miami Gardens<\/p>\n<p>Miami Gardens\u2019 Lester Brown Park will host a remembrance ceremony for people to pay tribute to those who died on 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p>When: 10 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 19405 NW 32nd Ave., Miami Gardens<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.mdc.edu\/event\/911-remembrance-ceremony\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.calendar.mdc.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Miami Beach<\/p>\n<p>The Miami Beach\u2019s fire and police first responders are teaming up to host a ceremony honoring 9\/11 victims that will include a moment of silence.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 2300 Pine Tree Dr., Miami Beach<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamibeachfl.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Miami-Beach-First-Responders-Mark-25-Year-Anniversary-of-9.11.pdf\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.miamibeachfl.gov<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Doral<\/p>\n<p>Everyone is welcome to pay homage at the Doral Government Center to those that were directly affected by 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 8401 NW 53rd Ter., Doral<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofdoral.com\/Events-directory\/911-Strength-in-Remembrance\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.cityofdoral.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Key Biscayne<\/p>\n<p>An event at Key Biscayne Civic Center\u2019s Monaco Fountain will include a moment of silence, prayer and remarks from retired New York Fire Department captain Robert Senator.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8:20 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 10 Village Green Way, Key Biscayne<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/regattagrove.com\/\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.keybiscayne.fl.gov<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Coral Gables<\/p>\n<p>Together, the Coral Gables Fire and Police Departments will host a ceremony to pay respect to the people that died on 9\/11 and the workers who managed the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 12151 Salzedo St., Coral Gables, FL<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coralgables.com\/events\/sept-11-remembrance-ceremony\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.coralgables.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Miramar<\/p>\n<p>This 9\/11 memorial will happen at Miramar Memorial Park, which features two beams from the World Trade Center to remind visitors of the day. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be giveaways.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 16801 Miramar Pkway.<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/miramar-911-veterans-memorial-remembrance-ceremony-tickets-1997636646986\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.eventbrite.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pembroke Pines<\/p>\n<p>Pembroke Pines Memorial Park is the site for a 9\/11 memorial ceremony. Visitors can see sculptures at the park made in tribute to 9\/11 victims. Air Force Col. Brett Dorey will speak and Navy Reserve Petty Officer Andrew Powell will sing the national anthem.<\/p>\n<p>When: 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppines.com\/Calendar.aspx?EID=8305\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.ppines.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fort Lauderdale<\/p>\n<p>The city\u2019s 9\/11 memorial ceremony is at the Fort Lauderdale Fire &amp; Safety Museum. The focus of the solemn event will be to remember the sacrifices made by first responders.<\/p>\n<p>When: 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: 1022 W. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortlauderdale.gov\/Explore-FTL\/Event-Calendar\/911-Remembrance-Ceremony\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.fortlauderdale.gov<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hollywood<\/p>\n<p>Hollywood Fire Rescue is hosting a 9\/11 remembrance ceremony at Fire Station 31.
