Florida law requires all middle and high school students to learn about what happened that day. None of the students currently in school were alive in 2001, and the same is starting to be true for teachers, many of whom were born in the early 2000s. School choice policies like universal vouchers, championed by state leaders, is undeniably a major driver of this decline.
