Broward County, FL – Rapper Kodak Black no longer faces criminal charges in Broward County after a judge dismissed the remaining count connected to an alleged February traffic stop.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old Pompano Beach native, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, had been accused of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence.<\/p>\n
According to the arrest affidavit, a deputy encountered Kapri\u2019s pink Jeep Grand Cherokee allegedly obstructing traffic near Northwest 15th Street and Northwest 18th Drive in Pompano Beach on Feb. 27.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the deputy activated emergency lights and a siren before the Jeep eventually stopped near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. <\/p>\n
Kapri allegedly exited and spoke with the deputy.<\/p>\n
Several people then arrived in other vehicles and approached the officer. <\/p>\n
One person allegedly identified himself as security, while another had a firearm visible near his waistband, the affidavit said.<\/p>\n
While the deputy attempted to manage the scene and wait for backup, Kapri allegedly returned to the Jeep and drove away. <\/p>\n
Detectives located the vehicle about 10 minutes later with another man allegedly behind the wheel.<\/p>\n
Kapri surrendered May 14 and was released after posting $3,500 bond. <\/p>\n
He pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n
The resisting charge was subsequently dropped. Kapri\u2019s attorneys asked the court to dismiss the felony fleeing count, arguing that undisputed evidence failed to establish the required elements of the offense. <\/p>\n
A judge granted the motion Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Kapri still faces a separate MDMA trafficking charge in Orange County stemming from a November 2025 investigation in Orlando. <\/p>\n
