Before this week, I did not know who Rubin Stacy was.<\/p>\n
Stacy, a Black farmworker and father of two, was lynched in 1935 after a white woman claimed he\u2019d attacked her with a penknife. Stacy was supposed to be taken to a Miami jail, but he was driven to a wooded area and hung.<\/p>\n
Now, a new play seeks to give Stacy a voice. A dramatic reading of \u201cThe Resurrection of Rubin Stacy\u201d will premiere at 7 p.m. at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center.<\/p>\n
