(<a href=\"http:\/\/capitolcitynow.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">CAPITOL CITY NOW<\/a>) \u2013 A Jacksonville man is in jail after a month-long investigation into him allegedly sexully assaulting a minor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/police.jacksonvilleil.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Jacksonville Police<\/a> say Austin D. Sims, 26, is being charged with Aggravative Criminal Sexual Assault.<\/p>\n<p>According to a news release, an investigation began in August, and the assault involved someone between the ages of 13 and 16 who was known to Sims at an earlier date.<\/p>\n<p>Sims has not yet made a first appearance in court, according to online court records .\u00a0 Charges were formally filed Thursday, as was a request by prosecutors to deny pre-trial release.<\/p>\n<p>Police say if you know anything about Sims and the victim, to call the Jacksonville Police Investigative Division at <a href=\"https:\/\/capitolcitynow.com\/news\/248842-jacksonville-man-arrested-for-alleged-sex-crime\/tel:2174794636\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">(217) 479-4636<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Police: Sims allegedly knew the teenage victim.
