Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\nPolice said Shkebia Lynettee Stanley, who was booked under the name Lynettee Shkebia Stanley, began attacking the boy at around 3:45 p.m. in the 13300 block of Alexandria Drive.<\/p>\n
An arrest report states that on their drive home Stanley, 37, \u201csuddenly stopped the car (and) without warning, she began to strike him with a hammer that she had stored in her vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn a state of panic, (the boy) attempted to defend himself by blocking the blows with his left arm while seated in the rear passenger seat,\u201d the report states. \u201cThe situation escalated further when his mother grabbed a canister of pepper spray and sprayed it directly into his face.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boy, police said, \u201cdescribed the overwhelming sensation as the spray filled the car and made it difficult for him to breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn a desperate attempt to escape the violent confrontation, he managed to open the car door and fled to his father\u2019s apartment, which was located nearby,\u201d the report states.<\/p>\n
Police said they found the boy \u201cin the shower, desperately trying to wash off a chemical agent that his mother had sprayed on him\u201d and said he was \u201cwas visibly shaken and expressed his fear and confusion about the events that had occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n
Authorities said Stanley, who smelled of pepper spray, claimed that \u201cnothing happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police took Stanley into custody and as of Friday morning, she was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond.<\/p>\n
Court records from Palm Beach County show that Stanley was found guilty of carrying a concealed weapon following a 2024 incident when she worked as a Florida Department of Corrections sergeant at the South Bay Correctional Facility.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest report, FDOC officers were searching the parking lot when a K9 narcotics dog alerted on Stanley\u2019s vehicle. <\/p>\n
After she consented to a search, officers said they found a prison shank, which she claimed she found during a prison search and which she put \u201cin her pocket and forgot about,\u201d not having completed an evidence log.<\/p>\n
Records show she received probation after entering a guilty plea.<\/p>\n
