Soiree at Sawgrass will be held on Oct. 6 in the ballroom at TPC Sawgrass to benefit Hart Felt Ministries, a nonprofit that serves seniors age 70 and older who have a chronic illness or disability.<\/p>\n
The soiree will be a fun night of fundraising and fellowship with passed hors d\u2019oeuvres, food stations and drinks. There will be a live and silent auction as well as a vacation auction with trips to Curacao, Holland, Iceland, Cortona\/Tuscany, Scotland and Sedona. The funds raised will support Hart Felt\u2019s four programs.<\/p>\n
Founded in 2003, Hart Felt\u2019s goal is to help seniors age in place. Their four programs: Companionship, Fall Prevention, The Hart Fund and Transportation, are free to clients. These programs give seniors access to the resources they need.<\/p>\n
Hart Felt is always looking for more volunteers so that they can help more seniors thrive. Their volunteer program offers a variety of roles with flexible time commitments. Opportunities to serve include companionship visits, errands and light housekeeping, yard work, minor home repairs and building wheelchair ramps. Volunteers can even help from home by joining the Prayer Team and Card Ministry. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the ministry.<\/p>\n
Kelly Moorman Coggins, executive director at Hart Felt Ministries, shared the story of husband-and-wife clients, Mr. Arcadio and Ms. Luzmila, who have been with the nonprofit since 2023. They have benefited from all four of Hart Felt\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n
Their daughter expressed her gratitude for Hart Felt and how much they have impacted her parents\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n
\u201cI work long hours at the hospital, which makes it difficult for me to take my parents to medical appointments during the work day,\u201d she said. \u201cWe don\u2019t have any family in Florida, which initially felt isolating for them and concerning for me. Since enrolling in the program in 2024, they have not missed any of their medical appointments. The drivers stay until the appointment ends, which gives them such peace of mind. No other local services provides this compassion for seniors.\u201d<\/p>\n
She went on to say that her parents feel so blessed by all of Hart Felt\u2019s programs. Mr. Arcadio and Ms. Luzmila are scheduled to be at the soiree and are excited for the opportunity to attend.<\/p>\n
Hart Felt Ministries is truly a unique organization that reminds seniors that they are loved and not forgotten. The Soiree at Sawgrass is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $100.
