MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. \u2014 Seventy-five-year-old Julio Pineda was affectionately known as \u201cEl Mago,\u201d the magician. <\/p>\n
On Sunday, he was among the five cleaning company workers killed<\/a> when a cargo plane, operated by 21 Air on behalf of Amazon, careened off the runway at Miami International Airport, slamming into their work van.<\/p>\n His sons have now hired attorneys to help them navigate the legal process and to find answers after their father\u2019s life was cut short.<\/p>\n \u201cThe first thing when we met his family, (they said) \u2018If he was here, he\u2019d be someone you\u2019d never forget,\u2019\u201d Mark Lopez-Trigo, an attorney with the firm Padr\u00f3n & Lopez Trigo said.<\/p>\n Lopez-Trigo\u2019s firm partner, Joshua Padr\u00f3n, said Pineda was \u201cloved by all\u201d and \u201cthe life of the party.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis was an outstanding man, who was very community-oriented,\u201d Lopez-Trigo added. \u201c(He) loved his family, loved his grandkids and nobody has a bad thing to say about him.\u201d<\/p>\n His sons are now left trying to make sense of a tragedy they never saw coming. The two attorneys said they\u2019re still trying to gather information before deciding what legal action to take. <\/p>\n \u201cOnce we have a better understanding of all of the issues, that will allow us to file a complaint that we feel will have stronger legs to be able to survive through the legal system and give our clients the best shot at justice,\u201d Lopez-Trigo said.<\/p>\n Authorities identified the four other victims as Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47; and Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53.<\/p>\n Some of their families<\/a> are also taking legal action<\/a>.<\/p>\n Eugenio Corredor, 79, was one of the injured victims. He was left badly hurt<\/a> after the plane crashed into his Toyota Corolla Cross SUV as he drove down Northwest 67th Avenue.<\/p>\n The law firms representing the victims\u2019 families plan to conduct their own investigation at the same time the National Transportation Safety Board probes the crash.<\/p>\n
