SUNRISE, Fla. \u2014 A man is facing two aggravated animal cruelty charges after police said he was caught on camera \u201ckicking and stomping\u201d one of his girlfriend\u2019s French bulldogs, along with spraying it with a hose, at her home in Sunrise.<\/p>\n
An arrest warrant from the Sunrise Police Department states that officers were called to the 11600 block of Northwest 37th Place on Sept. 3 after receiving a report of animal abuse.<\/p>\n
Authorities said they were provided surveillance footage from Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 showing Terell Dwayne Holloway, 41, of Lauderdale Lakes, kicking one of the French bulldogs about 10 times.<\/p>\n
Police said he then grabbed the dog and \u201c(threw) it into a corner,\u201d before \u201cspray(ing) the dog with a water hose.\u201d<\/p>\n
The warrant notes that French bulldogs are prone to respiratory issues and could have their breathing obstructed by an \u201cexcessive amount of water.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police said video from the next day shows Holloway \u201ckicking and stomping\u201d a dog about 24 times.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the incident, the dog can be heard yelping and attempting to escape,\u201d the warrant states.<\/p>\n
The video then shows Holloway grabbing the dog by its hind leg and kicking the animal \u201cso hard that his shoe flies off\u201d as he suspended the animal in the air, police wrote.<\/p>\n
Authorities said they spoke to Holloway\u2019s girlfriend, who said he regularly comes to her home to help her with her children and the dogs, named Zeus and Coco. Police said that she believed that Coco was the dog shown in the clips.<\/p>\n
Holloway\u2019s girlfriend, after being shown the video of both incidents, told investigators, \u201cI had no idea he was doing that,\u201d according to the warrant.<\/p>\n
Sunrise police took Holloway into custody on Thursday. A judge ordered he be held on a $100,000 bond on Friday and ordered him to have no possession or ownership of any animals.<\/p>\n
