Miami family found dead after small plane crashes 15 miles off Bahamas coast<\/p>\n

The bodies of four family members from Miami were recovered after a small plane crash near the Bahamas.<\/p>\n

Their family identified them as Mario Lamar Sr., 80, and Lili Lamar, 79, and their grandchildren, Sofi Sosa, 28, and Christian Sosa, 22. <\/p>\n

At approximately 2 p.m. Monday, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force requested Coast Guard assistance following the report of the incident.<\/p>\n

The Coast Guard said the small plane went down 15 miles off the coast of Andros Island just before 2:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

The family was traveling to Miami Executive Airport in Opa-locka.<\/p>\n

Mario Lamar was “an experienced pilot with more than 40 years of flying experience,” the family said Monday in a statement. <\/p>\n

The cause of the plane crash is unknown at this time. <\/p>\n
