Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\nAccording to the Hallandale Beach Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of Northwest Fifth Street Thursday following a ShotSpotter alert indicating possible gunfire in the area.<\/p>\n
As officers were responding, police said they spotted a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident leaving the area at a high rate of speed without its headlights on.<\/p>\n
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit that continued outside Hallandale Beach, according to the department.<\/p>\n
Police said four people associated with the vehicle were ultimately taken into custody. They were identified as 20-year-old Tarrell Greene, 21-year-old Devon Halloway, 21-year-old Adrian Knighten and 19-year-old Ashton Jackson.<\/p>\n
During the incident, two people fled on foot at separate locations, authorities said.<\/p>\n
One was apprehended following a foot chase, while another was taken into custody in Fort Lauderdale with assistance from a police K-9, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Police said one of the people taken into custody was found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the arm and hip\/groin area and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
No officers were injured.<\/p>\n
Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the involvement of those detained.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains active, and police said additional charges may be forthcoming.<\/p>\n
