FLORIDA – Florida Virtual School reported increased enrollment and course completions through its flexible online learning program during the 2025-26 school year.<\/p>\n
More than 242,000 students enrolled in FLVS Flex, which allows participants to take online classes while remaining connected to a public, private, charter or home education program.<\/p>\n
Students completed more than 706,000 semester courses, according to Florida Virtual School. <\/p>\n
The total represented a 10 percent increase from the previous school year.<\/p>\n
FLVS Flex served students in all 67 Florida counties. <\/p>\n
Enrollment is available throughout the year, allowing students to select courses and preferred start dates outside a traditional school calendar.<\/p>\n
The program provides online instruction for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. <\/p>\n
Its catalog includes more than 200 courses covering core subjects, Advanced Placement classes, world languages, driver education and career education.<\/p>\n
Students may use FLVS Flex to advance their studies, recover credits, explore careers or take classes unavailable through local schools. <\/p>\n
Public, private and charter school students generally use the program to supplement regular coursework. <\/p>\n
Home education students may take multiple classes as part of a parent-directed curriculum.<\/p>\n
FLVS Flex is not a student\u2019s school of record and does not award diplomas. <\/p>\n
Grades earned by students attending another school are sent to that institution.<\/p>\n
Sam Verghese, chief executive officer and superintendent of Florida Virtual School, said the program allows families to customize learning around academic goals, career interests and schedules.<\/p>\n
The figures were released ahead of National Online Learning Day on September 15th. <\/p>\n
FLVS Flex enrollment remains open year-round. <\/p>\n
