Two parents accused of fighting at their residence in Miami-Dade County while their children were there were arrested on Sunday, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Jaden Pitter, 23, and Vertia Samuels-Mitchell, 23, were charged with child abuse\/neglect and battery.<\/p>\n
According to authorities, an officer arrived at the residence after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance that involved Pitter and Samuels-Mitchell.<\/p>\n
An arrest report said that the two got into a verbal dispute that then turned physical, which happened in front of their children.<\/p>\n
A witness told the officer that Samuels and Pitter were standing face-to-face during the verbal dispute and then Samuels punched Pitter in the face, the report said.<\/p>\n
The witness, the report said, tried to separate the two before the confrontation escalated, but Pitter got around her and started punching Samuels.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, the officer met with Pitter, who said he was involved in a verbal altercation with Samuels, who is his children’s mother, and then they became physical, the report said. Samuels also admitted that’s what happened.<\/p>\n
