JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A 19-year-old Jacksonville man is facing federal charges after investigators said he created machine-gun conversion devices, commonly called \u201cGlock switches,\u201d with a 3D printer and then sold them to an undercover agent.<\/p>\n

According to a federal criminal complaint filed Sept. 3 in the Middle District of Florida, ATF agents allege that Emani Rey Justavino sold four 3D-printed devices for $200, then sold 50 more for $300 during an undercover operation on Aug. 18 and 19.<\/p>\n

Justavino faces allegations of illegally possessing machine guns and possessing firearms not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. <\/p>\n

Agents said the devices Justavino allegedly made with his 3D printer were designed to convert semiautomatic firearms into fully automatic weapons and were not serialized or registered. Investigators also allege Justavino discussed selling a Glock pistol and other firearms.<\/p>\n

According to the federal criminal complaint, the investigation began after an ATF task force officer learned that a person identified as \u201cJ.B.J.\u201d was advertising \u201cGlock switches\u201d on Instagram.<\/p>\n

An undercover confidential source contacted J.B.J., who referred the source to an associate using the Instagram account \u201c904hottshop.\u201d That person agreed to sell four 3D-printed conversion devices for $200 and arranged a meeting on Aug. 18 at a Gators Dockside restaurant in St. Johns County.<\/p>\n

The complaint says phone records linked the seller\u2019s number to Justavino, who allegedly met the undercover source and an undercover ATF agent at the restaurant but said he did not have the devices with him. <\/p>\n

He directed them to a nearby home, where a person identified as \u201cRay\u201d handed over four devices in a clear plastic case in exchange for the $200 provided by agents. Investigators said Justavino had arranged the pickup and confirmed the price.<\/p>\n

The next day, an undercover agent called Justavino to arrange another purchase. The complaint says Justavino claimed he had printed 50 devices overnight and had eight available.<\/p>\n

But when he met the agent on North Malibu Way, Justavino allegedly got into the agent\u2019s car and handed over a toaster pastry box with all 50 devices inside.<\/p>\n

The agent initially offered $400 for 16 of the devices, but the complaint says Justavino offered all 50 for $300 instead, which the agent paid with government funds.<\/p>\n

Justavino also allegedly tried to sell the undercover agent a tan Glock 19 for $1,000, but when the agent tried to barter, Justavino said he would just keep the gun.<\/p>\n

The federal complaint describes probable cause allegations. Justavino is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
