RJ Decker is a breakout hit on ABC Miami! Partly because the show is set right here in crazy South Florida. We \u201cFlorida men\u201d do get up to some weird stuff sometimes. But when I met the cast and ABC guest stars in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea before its season 2 premiere on Tuesday at 10 p.m., I learned\u2014being an actor is awesome because you get to work on the beach.<\/p>\n
Florida has a reputation. And RJ Decker is more than happy to lean into it.<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cWhat do you think is the weirdest part about Florida? What is it about us down here?\u201d<\/p>\n
Scott Speedman: \u201cWho knows? I think California has a little bit of that too. I don\u2019t know. I think it\u2019s just the heat. And then, you know, when you read the guy\u2019s novels that this show is based on, they kind of lean into that, but I have no idea. It\u2019s beyond me. But we love it. I mean, it\u2019s great for storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n
But this season, some familiar faces are trading the ballroom for the crime scene. RJ Decker returns Tuesday the 15th at 10 on ABC Miami, right after Dancing with the Stars.<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cThe show is all about crime, murder, mystery\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
Jenna Johnson: \u201cWhich are my favorite shows.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cOoh, mine too.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jenna Johnson: \u201cSo I\u2019m geeking out. On our show, we are live. And I think that is such a fun element of Dancing with the Stars. And so that\u2019s been new for us in this setting because there are so many takes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Val Chmerkovskiy: \u201cWe did a flash mob by the beach.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adelaide Clemens: \u201cWe start dancing on the promenade in Fort Lauderdale. And you\u2019ll have to watch the show to understand why that is.\u201d<\/p>\n
Val Chmerkovskiy: \u201cI think the performance turned out great. The actors are doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cAny moves in particular you remember?\u201d<\/p>\n
Kevin Rankin: \u201cI do think they\u2019ve been watching me on the set for a while thinking, \u2018Hmm, I think that\u2019s where the storyline came from.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Bachelor-turned-Mirrorball champ Joey Graziadei is getting in on the action too.<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cYou\u2019re jack of all trades, but master of all of them, which is\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
Joey Graziadei: \u201cI thought you were gonna say master of none. I\u2019ll take that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cNo, we\u2019ve got Dancing with the Stars. We have The Bachelor. So how do you feel today in your guest-starring role on RJ Decker?\u201d<\/p>\n
Joey Graziadei: \u201cI\u2019m still a master of none.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cYou win everything you touch, dude.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joey Graziadei: \u201cI\u2019m trying here, but it\u2019s been really fun. Everyone\u2019s been super inviting.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jenna Johnson: \u201cTo be part of their season premiere is just really incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joey Graziadei: \u201cI have sticky fingers in this one, so don\u2019t judge me on that. It was the role. I just had to. I had to, you know, method acting. I\u2019m not stealing from you, though. You\u2019re good.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Val, South Florida already has his heart. Now his Miami movie knowledge\u2026<\/p>\n
Jenna Johnson: \u201cI mean, look at the fit. He belongs here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex Miranda: \u201cHe does. Yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n
