Cape Coral police search for man caught on camera in reported car burglary attempts<\/p>\n

Cape Coral police are searching for a man caught on camera reportedly attempting to break into vehicles after multiple thefts were reported off Country Club Boulevard in southeast Cape Coral. <\/p>\n

Officers said the suspect was accused of breaking into several vehicles in the area, stealing credit cards, wallets, cellphones, and a knife. <\/p>\n

“I heard a chopper, and I believe they said they had a drone flying out as well,” said Jesse Jernigan, a Cape Coral resident. <\/p>\n

Residents along Country Club Boulevard have been on high alert after hearing about the burglaries and spotting the suspect on their Ring cameras. Jim Carlson, whose truck was targeted but remained locked, shared his concerns. <\/p>\n

“I’m sure he is going to do it again, of course he is going to do it again, but hopefully with all the Ring cameras and stuff like that they will be able to find out who he is and get this guy,” Carlson said. <\/p>\n

After failing to break into Carlson\u2019s truck, the suspect reportedly tried to access a neighbor\u2019s vehicle but left when police arrived. <\/p>\n

“I was on my lanai with my gun protecting my property, and I seen a million dogs going up both sides of the canal,” Carlson said. “The guy did a Houdini act, I don’t know, but yeah, they need to get him, and I think they will.” <\/p>\n

Cape Coral police are asking anyone who recognizes the man to contact them.<\/p>\n
