ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Central Florida is in for a breezy and unsettled Wednesday as east-northeast winds push rounds of coastal showers and a few thunderstorms into the region.<\/p>\n
Showers are already moving through Wednesday morning, with additional rounds expected throughout the day. <\/p>\n
Winds will generally run around 10\u201320 mph, with gusts reaching 25\u201330 mph.<\/p>\n
A few thunderstorms could develop, particularly along the coast and south of Orlando. <\/p>\n
The stronger storms may bring frequent lightning and heavy downpours.<\/p>\n
High temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.<\/p>\n
Beachgoers should use extra caution on Wednesday as rough surf and a high risk for life-threatening rip currents are expected. Surf heights will run around 5 to 6 feet.<\/p>\n
Anyone heading to the beach should stay near lifeguards and avoid entering the water when conditions are hazardous.<\/p>\n
A similar weather pattern is expected Thursday, with windy conditions and fast-moving onshore showers.<\/p>\n
By Friday and into the weekend, the forecast shifts toward more typical sea-breeze-driven showers and thunderstorms across Central Florida.<\/p>\n
In the Atlantic, an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms is located east of Bermuda. Forecasters say development chances remain low, currently around 30%.<\/p>\n
The system will continue to be monitored as it moves across the Atlantic.<\/p>\n
