Mike Norvell is not moving out of Tallahassee.<\/p>\n
Florida State football coach Mike Norvell is not moving out of his house in Tallahassee. Rumors swirled after video was posted to social media showing a delivery truck supposedly outside his home on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The reality is that administration is still in his corner. They have no plans to fire him midseason. The Seminoles<\/a> do not want to pay his $50 million buyout.<\/p>\n That outlook seemingly debunks the narrative that Norvell is bracing to be let go. He is not packing his bags quite yet!<\/p>\n Is Mike Norvell moving out of his house?<\/p>\n Images and clips were posted to X on Tuesday of a delivery truck in his driveway. Mike Norvell<\/a> was going to be fired.<\/p>\n There was some reason to believe the rumors given the recent firing of athletic director Michael Alford<\/a>. Alford, however, did not hire Norvell. That was his predecessor, David Coburn.<\/p>\n Alford was hired before Norvell\u2019s second season. He was responsible for the coach\u2019s recent raise having reworked Norvell\u2019s contract after a 10-win campaign in 2022.<\/p>\n Often, an AD move can signal a push to clean house. He says Norvell still has the support of the school president and board chair. They are not ready to cut the cord just yet.<\/p>\n Florida State does not want to fire Mike Norvell.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure I\u2019m going to say something that\u2019s going to shock people,\u201d Dellenger said in a recent podcast appearance.<\/p>\n \u201cI know it signals that the coach is going to get fired when the AD gets fired and the coach is going into this kind of year. All I can do is convey what I\u2019ve heard the university president and board chair tell other people at the university.<\/p>\n \u201cThey really like the coach, and don\u2019t necessarily want to pay $50 million to fire the coach.\u201d<\/p>\n Dellenger says things would obviously change with poor performances in upcoming games. The Seminoles have a bit of a gauntlet starting up with matchups vs. Alabama, Virginia, Louisville, Miami, and Clemson across the next six games.<\/p>\n For what it\u2019s worth, Norvell was completely oblivious to the online whispers.
