Credit: Dave Decker \/ Creative Loafing Tampa Bay<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone\u2019s gonna become a legend next month at <a href=\"https:\/\/community.cltampa.com\/location\/skatepark-of-tampa-12717027\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Skatepark of Tampa.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s when best trick contests, concrete bowl jams and parties return for the <a href=\"https:\/\/skateparkoftampa.com\/blogs\/events\/32nd-annual-tampa-am?srsltid=AU7gw4X5skJgUND7orgS4mxfJvTyXA4Otk6AfDcU4QhGZ7k_PobirFWT\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Am tournament<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its 32nd year, Tampa Am has become infamous for launching the professional careers of amateur skateboarders who spend time and money to prove themselves at the infamous venue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tournament\u2014set for Oct. 15-18\u2014brings skaters from across the globe to compete for judges and fans during official runs and side quest competitions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting as a small competition for the 18,000-square-foot warehouse in 1995, the skatehouse launched the careers of notable once-amateur skateboarders including past winners like 2024 Olympic bronze medal winner Nyjah Huston (2005), Felipe Gustavo (2007) and Lazer Crawford (2023).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thursday includes free spectator opportunities to watch registered skaters practice.
