The 14th Annual Golisano Children\u2019s Hospital Fashion Show will bring together fashion, philanthropy and community on Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs. Proceeds from the event will benefit Barbara\u2019s Friends \u2013 Golisano Children\u2019s Cancer Fund, which has helped more than 12,000 children and families facing cancer and blood disorders since 1995. Barbara\u2019s Friends supports specialized pediatric care, advanced treatments, family support and counseling, equipment, staffing, and training that help children receive lifesaving treatment close to home.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen a child is diagnosed with cancer, their entire family begins a journey they never expected,\u201d said Amy Helgeson, senior director of development for Lee Health Foundation. \u201cThis year\u2019s support of Barbara\u2019s Friends is an opportunity for our community to rally around local children and families, celebrate their resilience and help ensure they have access to exceptional care and support every step of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Barbara\u2019s Friends supports Golisano Children\u2019s Pediatric Hematology\/Oncology Program, the only program of its kind in Southwest Florida. Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and community partners, the fund helps provide critical resources that improve patient experience and outcomes. Thanks to philanthropic support, no child is denied treatment because of a family\u2019s inability to pay.<\/p>\n
