{"id":401951,"date":"2026-09-16T23:10:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T23:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/401951\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T23:10:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T23:10:10","slug":"miami-dolphins-defensive-line-must-fix-issues-fast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/401951\/","title":{"rendered":"Miami Dolphins Defensive Line Must Fix Issues Fast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nfl\/miami-dolphins-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Dolphins<\/a> Defensive Line Must Fix Issues Fast<\/p>\n<p>Early in 2025, the Dolphins defense had a similar problem to what they experienced in the team\u2019s season-opening loss today against Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>They couldn\u2019t stop the run, whether it was up the middle with their young defensive tackles or on the edge, where both their defensive ends and support players like their cornerbacks and off-ball linebackers couldn\u2019t make a play.<\/p>\n<p>While Miami eventually turned a corner a season ago, the Raiders clearly came in with a game plan to test Miami\u2019s run defense after losing their two best edge defenders, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ChubBr00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=dolphinstalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-15_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bradley Chubb<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PhilJa02.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=dolphinstalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-15_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jaelan Phillips<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Their plan worked: star running back\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JeanAs00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=dolphinstalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-15_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ashton Jeanty<\/a>\u00a0got around the corner whenever he pleased as new edge additions Josh Uche and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BealRo00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=dolphinstalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-15_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Robert Beal<\/a> Jr. couldn\u2019t hold up, and Miami\u2019s cornerbacks were no match for the second-year\u00a0back.<\/p>\n<p>Jeanty also exploited Miami on the edge, as the former Boise State Bronco consistently faced little resistance when rushing between the tackles.<\/p>\n<p>After losing 2025 first-round pick\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GranKe01.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=dolphinstalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-15_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kenneth Grant<\/a>, Miami\u2019s other interior linemen couldn\u2019t\u00a0fill in for him as Jeanty ran for 102 yards on 23 carries.<\/p>\n<p>Miami was pushed around, especially between the A &amp;
