The boy was riding an electric bike on the sidewalk next to Woodside Drive when the accident occurred near 35th Court around 2:51 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police.

The teen left the sidewalk and tried to cross Woodside Drive as a Hyundai sedan with the right-of-way was heading north on the road, investigators said.

The car hit the teen, who sustained a head injury from the crash, according to police. He was airlifted to Broward Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale while the Hyundai driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
